Montreal #2, June 21-22

Vince and Kim took a chore day .  Thank you for doing laundry.  ????

Mark and Laureen toured the Marie- Renie-Du-Monde church.  It’s a replica of the Basilica in Rome.
The alter is open on all 4 sides since the church is in the shape of the cross.
8 Saint stations to pray

Bishops are laid to rest here.

Organ sounds wonderful

Laureen went to the Fine Art Museum; it is her happy place.
  It was wonderful.
Sculptures
Glass Art
Modern art, hmmm interesting
They were doing construction in front of the museum.  Very ingenious
Laureen and Mark strolled thru the Underground City, below Montreal.
There are many entrances to the 10 km underground mall.
It’s attached to some offices and shopping centers so in some parts it looks to be 4 stories high.
It’s full of shopping and restaurants underneath the city.  Very bright and clean.
More sights around town
Old and new
These statues are called the Tourists.  During covid lock down, they were removed.  They were returned wearing face masks when tourism started again and now with the lifting of the mask mandate, they’ve been removed.
On Wednesday we enjoyed a 25 km bike ride around the area.  The bike paths are wonderful.
Lots of little rest stops
Some scenery
There is a crane family in the marsh.
Supper with Eric’s family.
Lise and Kyler
Good meal, good company. Unfortunately, Michele was unable to make supper but he video chatted with us.  We will miss our Quebec family.
