Los Algodones is a small Mexican border town about 20 minutes from Yuma. You can drive across or walk.\u00a0 We walked and parked in a fenced, paved parking lot on reservation land for $6.<\/p>\n

Mark and I didn’t even realize that we had walked through border security going into Mexico on our way to Los Algodones, it was very quick and easy.<\/div>\n

Kim got prescription eyeglasses and a crown ($350) on her tooth (2 appointments, less than 1 hour each, and completed in 2 days).\u00a0 Vince, Mark and I got our teeth cleaned ($30).<\/div>\n

Supreme Dental is a very clean, modern and friendly.\u00a0 We felt 100% safe there.\u00a0 Before you could enter the clinic, you had to sanitize your shoes by standing on 3 different mats, rinse your mouth with a sanitizing mouth wash, sanitize your hands, and put on a new mask.<\/div>\n

We enjoyed lunch at a restaurant that advertised “If you don’t like the food, you don’t pay “.\u00a0 No prices anywhere, menu was painted on a beam coming down from the ceiling.\u00a0 Mark and I ordered 2 chicken enchiladas with rice (and beans for Mark), a sprite and a bottle of water.\u00a0 Vince and Kim ordered the 1 chicken enchilada meal with 1 water.\u00a0 When it came to pay Vince and Kim paid $7 and we paid $8. Not sure how 2 drinks and 2 extra enchiladas cost $1 more ????.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Leaving Mexico to return to the United States you had to line up (like a Disney ride).\u00a0 We were lucky and only had a 2 hour wait. There are 4 customs agent stations but they only staff 2 of them at a time.\u00a0 They asked if you brought any medication, alcohol or cigarettes back.\u00a0 No questions about how much money you spent.<\/div>\n

I thought I had claimed everything, but it turns out I didn’t claim a stomach bug (Montezuma Revenge) ????.<\/div>\n

It lasted less than 48 hours but I missed out on the New Year’s Eve Gala in the park.\u00a0 The others chose not to go either.\u00a0 Mark and Vince played crib instead and enjoyed the hot tub.<\/div>\n
