In 1985, the small town of Felicity, CA was designated as the “Center of the World”.<\/div>\n

We spent a couple of hours at the Granite Museum ($5), which is about 30 minutes from Yuma in the town of Felicity.\u00a0 This town has 7 residents and 1 is the mayor.<\/p>\n

The mayor lives in the big house and the smaller house has 6 apartment-type units to rent.\u00a0 5 are occupied and 1 is currently for rent.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A children’s book called “Coe the Good Dragon and the Center of the World”, written by JAI (Jacques-Andre\u00a0 Istel), who happens to be the mayor of Felicity and was the originator of this museum.<\/div>\n

In this book Coe sets out to find the center of the world and he finds it in Felicity, CA. In 1985, a location in Felicity was named the Official Center of the World by California Law. Visitors can pay $3 (which is a donation for the museum upkeep) and get a certificate stating you visited the Pyramid and stood at the Official Center of the World.<\/div>\n

The museum consists of granite walls where the history of civilizations and the world have been etched into them.\u00a0 It reminds me of an encyclopedia.\u00a0 Each wall is dedicated to certain topics.\u00a0 Arts, religion, Arizona\/California history, world history, animals, science, etc.\u00a0 There is plenty of room to add more writings.<\/div>\n
