Kim had a place to see on her bucket list – Slab City.<\/p>\n

“We toured what I believe to be the strangest place I have ever seen,\u00a0Slab City California.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
It is an abandoned military base that was taken over by hippies years ago. We saw a few normal looking people, a lot of very strange\/spooky looking people, and one guy dressed up as a panda dancing on the road.\u00a0\u00a0The inhabitants live in everything from decent looking RVs (very few) to shelters made from old pallets (a lot more). It would appear that their claim to fame is artwork.\u00a0 Hmmmmm.\u00a0Well, we saw it.”<\/div>\n

I thought it was pretty interesting, from the front seat of the truck anyway.<\/div>\n

We talked to a resident of Slab City who gave us some great insight into the city and its residents. We now know the rules of choosing your spot, how the children get to school, where they get their mail (yes, they get Courier delivery!), how they choose their street names and numbers, percent of people vaccinated and all sort of cool facts.<\/div>\n
