Mark and Laureen went on a self guided tour of the Biosphere 2. We were given a tablet with pre-programmed information at 14 stops.<\/p>\n

In 1991 an experiment was done by putting 8 people in a self-contained world of their own.\u00a0 The most interesting point is that NONE of the original data and very few original pictures were ever released.\u00a0 Of course, Laureen’s mind goes to Stephen King novels ????.\u00a0 They residents each had their own 2 story private space with a bedroom up top and Livingroom downstairs where their phone and computer were.\u00a0 There were also communal areas where they could gather but after a hard day’s work they basically went to bed.\u00a0 They lived on a mostly plant-based diet but did try to raise pigs and chickens.\u00a0 They grew their own coffee beans and they all could have 1 cup of coffee every 2 to 3 weeks.<\/div>\n

Laureen would have the most fun in the ocean area, snorkeling around and swimming.<\/div>\n

This Pyramid housed the rainforest and ocean.\u00a0 Attached to it was the “Baja” desert.<\/div>\n

The tallest point of the structures housed the library.\u00a0 It provided a 360-degree view of the outside world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
