We spent a day biking the Vicksburg battlefield (Civil War).\u00a0 The hills were incredibly steep and the air very humid. We have a better understanding of what the soldiers went through for 47 hard, long days over 1728 Acres.<\/p>\n

By no means are we experts on the civil war, but we can see how it becomes addictive.\u00a0 All throughout the battlefield there are plaques stating which battle and brigade happened on that spot.\u00a0 Cool seeing which soldiers fought in that area, who survived and came back, and marked where they fought.<\/div>\n

We were able to board the ship and see the inner workings of it.\u00a0 This is not a replica.\u00a0 Bullet holes and bomb are evidence of what it has been through.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Inside the museum they have replicated what the homes looked like when the citizens had to live in caves during the battle.<\/div>\n

We never got a chance to enter Jackson.\u00a0 The highway system is not RV friendly ????<\/div>\n

What we could glimpse out of the windows is that they spare no expense on churches but don’t upkeep their homes.<\/div>\n
