Did you know the Smithsonian has 17 “Museums”?\u00a0 This includes the zoo,\u00a0 gardens and two museums in New York.<\/p>\n

Smithsonian Castle<\/h3>\n
The original Smithsonian Museum is now the visitor center.\u00a0 They have display cases of each museum, giving you a little taste of what each one contains.\u00a0 A great starting point to decide where to go next.\u00a0 Unfortunately, not all of them were open to the public.\u00a0 Some were getting new displays set up and others were renovating.<\/div>\n

American History Museum<\/h3>\n
The special exhibit in this museum was Dorothy’s red slippers from the Wizard of Oz worn by Judy Garland, and the First Ladies Inauguration Ball Gowns.<\/div>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Michelle Obama donated not only the gown but shoes and accessories.<\/div>\n
\n
<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Melania Trump donated only her dress.<\/div>\n
\n
<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
All the others donated the gown plus a purse, if not more.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The China was beautiful.\u00a0 Nancy Reagan’s China stands out.<\/div>\n

<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Laura Bush’s is more subtle.<\/div>\n
\n
<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Another really cool thing at this museum is the ORIGINAL Star-Spangled Banner.<\/div>\n

Museum of Natural Science<\/h3>\n
They were featuring the Hope Diamond in this museum.\u00a0 Beautiful!<\/div>\n
